The Alumni Association Of St. Mary’s College , Shillong organized a Carnival of food, music and games on 5th November 2014 as part of its fund raising activity. Dr.(Ms) Ampareen M. Lyngdoh, Minister of Urban Affairs, Govt. of Meghalaya, inaugurated the function at 9:30 am. In her speech, the Minister encouraged the students and staff of the college to inculcate in themselves the habit of maintaining cleanliness in and around the city so as to improve the sanitary conditions in Shillong. The Minister also requested the association to take up the issue as one of its activities.
The aim of the Carnival was to raise funds for the forthcoming Pre–Christmas Party for the less-privileged children of Shillong, organised annually in December by the AASMC along with the College.
The Carnival witnessed enthusiastic participation by the present and past pupils of the college along with its staff members, which showcased their support to the association and its activities.
