Special Assembly for Pulwama martyrs

A special Assembly was held on 22nd Feb 2019 to pay profound homage and to express heartfelt gratitude to the many noble soldiers who lost their lives during the attack in Pulwama on 14th feb 2019. The Principal of St Mary's College, Dr. Sr. Mary Harriet, felt a deep need to mark this sad event with a programme comprising prayers readings from Holy Books and songs. All the members of the Marian Family expressed their profound sense of oneness with those who had laid down their lives and with their bereaved families.The supreme sacrifice made by these soldiers will not be forgotten. Passages from The Bible, The Koran,  The Guru Granth Sahib  and verses from The Gita was read out and prayers offered to the Almighty Father  that He gather the precious souls of our Bravehearts  and keep them safe. Each one lit a candle.The flame was a symbol of  the eternal light and fire that shines within the soul that never dies.
As the National Anthem was heard by all a solemn sense of gratitude was felt to those who had so willingly so selflessly died in their noble aspiration to protect our nation.
